Ocosta’s Barnum, South Bend’s Sanchez earn honors

Ocosta’s Kaylee Barnum and South Bend’s Jessica Sanchez will share league MVP honors in the 2B Pacific after leading their teams to the top of the league standings this season.

Barnum helped lead her team to a league title and trip to the state tournament with a team-high 247 kills on the season. She also made her presence felt in the service game with 47 aces.

Sanchez was also a big part of a postseason run, helping her team qualify for districts and finished a game away from a state tournament berth.

Sanchez, who led the team in kills and digs this season, put up impressive numbers in the team’s final match against Morton-White Pass with 23 digs and 18 kills.

With the help of their senior MVPs, Ocosta and South Bend finished first and second, respectively, in the league standings.
