MONTESANO — Recording five pins and receiving several forfeits, Montesano closed out its home season by trouncing Adna in a non-league contest Monday at Bo Griffith Memorial Gym.
Kai Olson, Andy Fry, Ty Ekerson, Brent Hollatz and Maleki Osbekoff notched pins for the Bulldogs. Olson, Ekerson, Fry and Osbekoff were cited by Monte coach Jeff Klinger for particularly fine showings.
“We, the coaches, think that it was probably our best performance to date,” Klinger said.
Montesano’s Tanner Rossmaier was the lone senior in the lineup on Senior Night.
The Bulldogs visit Elma for their final dual match on Wednesday.

Kalama Tourney
KALAMA — Montesano’s Ty Ekerson and Kai Olson were among the champions at Kalama’s Rubber Chicken Invitational on Saturday.
Olson pinned returning state placewinner Kaleb Dennis of Sultan in 5:14 of the 170-pound championship match.
Ekerson captured the 113-pound championship with a 5-3 decision. over Kalama’s Chase Staup.
“Ty and Kai had great tournament and are wrestling well as we had toward the postseason,” Monte coach Jeff Klinger noted.
Montesano’s Andy Fry was co-third at 106 pounds (with 16-man brackets, third and fifth-place matches were not contested). He earned praise from Klinger for rebounding for his loss of the season.
Monte’s Aaron Lano (113), Lucas Salstrom (120) and Tanner Rossmaier (182) placed fifth.
Other Harbor placewinners from this tournament were not reported.
