Montesano opened its regular season on Thursday, Sept. 8 by edging out Kalama in a Southwest Washington 1A League match at Oaksridge Golf Course.
From the No. 6 spot, Noah Quinn’s 43 earned him medalist honors and provided the difference between the two teams.
“Noah’s 43 won the match for us today,” Montesano head coach Lloyd Aldrich said. “We had 10 players between the junior varsity and varsity teams shoot between 43-48, which is a great play to be right now. We are going to need a player or two to step up eventually and consistently shave a few strokes off if we want to be competitive this year as a team.”
On Sept. 13, Montesano took on Seton Catholic on the road.
