John Sand carded a one-under-par 34 to lead Hoquiam past Montesano in a Southwest Washington 1A League match Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma.
Montesano had one of its finest performances, with Austin Peterson carding a 42.
“That was an outstanding effort on our part, but we just don’t have an answer for their No. 1 guy,” Monte coach Lloyd Aldrich observed. “But it is good to see a number of our kids playing well at this point of the season.”
