Eagles 55, Beavers 25

TENINO — Limiting Tenino to two points in the opening quarter, Elma thumped Tenino in an Evergreen 1A League game Thursday at Tenino.

The Eagles led 27-7 at the half. Tenino had only five field goals for the game.

“We came out and jumped out early,” Elma coach Lisa Johnson noted. “We took care of business.”

As is their habit, the Eagles (3-1, 15-1) featured a balanced scoring attack. Quin Mikel led the way with 14 points. Molly Johnston added 12 points and Jalyn Sackrider had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Kayli Johnson dished out five assists for Elma.

The Eagles will be idle until hosting Forks on Jan. 19.
