ELMA — Breaking things open with a 22-point second quarter, Elma downed Tenino in an Evergreen 1A League contest Friday at Elma.

The Eagles (2-2, 3-13) snapped a 10-all standoff with their big second quarter.

“We were pressuring them into a lot of turnovers,” Elma coach Jeff Niemi said. “Our press created a lot of baskets for us.”

Cody Vollan had 16 points, 10 rebounds and five assists for the Eagles. Ray Billerbeck and Cobey Moore had 12 points each, while Brady Johnston contributed five steals and four assists.

The Eagles host Forks on Friday.
