Elma took control in the final two sets to defeat Forks 3-1 (28-26, 19-25, 25-13, 25-13) in an Evergreen 1A League match at Elma on Oct. 11.
After being pushed in the first set and losing the second set to the Spartans, Elma rolled in the final two sets to seal the victory.
“We had a pretty close first game and had a tough battle in the second set, but the girls played really well as a team in the third and fourth games and played with a lot of energy,” Elma coach Kendra Henry said. “It was a good team effort.”
Elma was led by Kenna Stoney, who finished with seven aces, 13 kills and 24 assists, while Kaylee Rambo added nine kills.
Forks won the junior varsity match.
Elma lost to Montesano on Oct. 13.
