CASHMERE — Nationally recruited Hailey Van Lith scored 37 points as state-ranked Cashmere trounced Montesano in a non-league game Saturday.
Montesano head coach Julie Graves said her team had trouble guarding the nation’s fifth-ranked high school female player.
“We played hard but didn’t have an answer to Van Lith,” she said. “Van Lith is a sophomore who scored her 1000th career point on Friday night at Omak, when she amassed a school-record 44 points.”
Zoe Hutchings scored 18 points and Samantha Stanfield grabbed 10 rebounds for Montesano’s Bulldogs (11-5)..
The JV team also feel to Cashmere, 64-28. Riley Thoemmes 16 points for Montesano in that loss.
