Jan. 12

Suspicious person/circumstance. 100 block 5th Street S., Satsop. 10:36 a.m. Male subject associated with white Jeep, cutting locks off storage units with bolt cutters. Was at the third one from the last when going in.

Traffic hazard. 200 block Keys Road, Satsop. 5:35 p.m. Strong gas smell coming from bridge up to site of Grays Harbor Energy.

Jan. 13

Suspicious person/circumstance. Brady Loop Road East and Monte Brady Road, Montesano. 6:41 p.m. Reporting party in vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 12. Driver was distracted by a light from a laser from another vehicle, believed also traveling westbound on Brady Loop Road. Appeared to be similar to a Charger, unknown further.

Traffic stop. 4900 State Route 12, Elma. 8:34 p.m. Subject running off, possibly driver. Fled, jumped the fence eastbound. Officers searching. Under 6 feet. wearing coat and hat. Vehicle towed.

Jan. 14

Accident/blocking. 800 block East Satsop Road, Satsop. 4:02 p.m. One vehicle off the roadway, non-injury. Elderly woman claiming a blue pickup ran her off the roadway. Now stating blue pickup actually struck her last seen south, single male driver. Tow on scene.

Jan. 16

Fire. 100 block Newman Middle Branch Road, Satsop. 11:04 p.m. Neighbor’s residence on fire — smoke and flames. Vehicles in the driveway — flames are large. Fully engulfed. One down on the ground outside.

Jan. 17

Driving complaint. Arland Road at Devonshire Road, Montesano. 5:10 p.m. Reporting party was behind a tan Chevy truck with canopy that, per reporting party, was not driving fast enough on the old highway. She attempted to pass it and he would not let her. After she passed him, she stopped him to confront him and he said he was going to call in and report the reporting party for bad driving.

Fraud/Swindle/Confidence game. 100 block Oak Meadows Lane, Oakville. 7:12 p.m. Received a counterfeit cashiers check for $1,980.

Fire. 100 block Newman Creek Road, Satsop. 6:39 p.m. Washing machine on fire. Reporting party is evacuating. Fire is out at this time. Damage is limited to washing machine.

Jan. 18

Traffic violation – driving complaint. Foreman Road and Mox Chehalis Road, McCleary. 8:05 p.m. Northbound on Mox Chehalis Road, white newer model Ford Mustang with racing stripes was just in the ditch. Last seen northbound on Mox Chehalis Road at approximately 90 mph. Went into the ditch. Mustang ran woman’s son off the road at one point. Husband and son went to look for it and found debris.
