House too scary for trick-or-treaters, so somebody called the cops

Oct. 31

911-open line: 700 block of South Bank Road, Elma. 1:21 p.m. Operator heard movement then woman say, “Oops, I dialed 911,” before hanging up. No answer on recall. Officer checked area. No signs of problems.

Citizen assist: 500 block of 13th Street N., Elma. 7:55 p.m. Reporting party requests help referencing trick-or-treaters outside crying due to neighbor outside with a fake chain saw, scaring them. Responding officer confirmed chain saw was fake. It’s not a danger. Will try to check the area when driving through.

Agency assist: 100 block of Harp Road, Oakville. 10:51 a.m. Shed in back on fire. Smoke seen, no flames. Flames now visible. No answer at residence. Space heater possibly started fire. Fire out.

Suspicious vehicle: 6500 block of State Route 12, Oakville. 11:35 a.m. Subject in vehicle is not responsive. Department of Natural Resources notified and en route. Washington State Patrol given deceased’s information.

Nov. 1

Suspicious person: 2000 block of South Bank Road, Oakville. 11:55 a.m. Male sleeping or under the influence, is in truck. He has been there since 7 a.m. Dog in vehicle. Does not look to be in distress. Nobody around. Vehicle has a flat tire.

Nov. 2

Liquor violation: First block of Devonshire Road, Montesano. 11:23 p.m. Juvenile party on gravel bar on west side of the bridge. Approximately 15 to 30 kids there. Officer unable to locate.

Illegal burn: First block of Porter Creek Road, Oakville. 6 p.m. Mattress burning in yard. Fire extinguished. Provided landowner with education materials about burning.

Nov. 3

Animal problem: First block of Sunny View Lane, Elma. 4:06 p.m. Reporting party says a pack of dogs attacked and killed about 10 chickens, possibly more.

Fire arm complaint: 1600 block of South Bank Road, Oakville. 11:39 p.m. Vehicle pulled into reporting party’s driveway, used spotlight and fired two shots then left eastbound.

Agency assist: 200 block of Keys Road, Satsop. 1:54 a.m. House is on fire. Flames showing. Building evacuated. No explosives. Ammunition in gun safe. Fire started at heat lamp on deck for animal. Owner trying to put it out with hose. Patio cover fully engulfed. Spread to house. House becoming fully involved. Request engine and tenders from Fire District 2 and District 12 and Elma Fire. Very large house. Will require lots of water. Request medic unit from District 5. Four hours later, fire reported out.

Nov. 4

Found property: First block of Kayla Road, Montesano. 12:21 p.m. Kayak found on lower end of Satsop River near gravel bar.

Burglary: (Redacted), Elma. 10:51 a.m. Reporting party says shop broken into by taking sheeting off back of building. Damage to door.

Trespassing: Delezenne Road and Sund Road, Elma. 11:16 a.m. Reporting party says subjects have been going on to various private properties in area, cutting boughs off cedar and pine trees. Vehicle had forest permit for the area.

Theft: 200 block of Stamper Road, Elma. 3:56 p.m. Reporting party says 9mm pistol taken within past month, along with propane take.

Domestic violence: (Withheld), Montesano. 7:49 p.m. Reporting party can hear yelling, possibly physical. Aid requested for adult male with arm laceration.

Agency assist: (Withheld), Oakville. 2:18 p.m. Reporting party requests help with abuse allegation, hasn’t been able to get access to child. Child Protective Services requests a deputy for a house check. No East deputies available. CPS will try again tomorrow.

Nov. 5

Agency assist: (Withheld), Oakville. 9:57 a.m. Officer needed for welfare check after mother arrested for DUI.
