Dear Editor:
With Thanksgiving nearly upon us, some of the seniors are wondering if we’ll get a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday before Thanksgiving.
As far as I can remember, the Thursday before the week of the holiday — then lo and behold the powers that be decided to have the holiday dinner on Friday before the holiday. Why?
We pay our taxes just like everyone else. Maybe we are senile, but by Jove, we should be treated equal. We all pay $4 for our meal and donate more for coffee or tea. None of us cheat. Before the person delivers the food, the money is counted by two people and everyone has paid.
How about really trying to have the holiday meal on Thursday before the holiday?
Have you heard “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it”?
