Patricia L. Pickering, 92, passed away Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at her home in Lake Oswego, Oregon. She was born June 27, 1927, in Montesano, Washington, the second child of B. Harry Pickering and Thelma (Harriage) Pickering. Her father owned Pick’s Red & White grocery store. At age 62 she retired to Portland, Oregon, to be closer to family.
Pat had a life-long love of opera and held season tickets to the San Francisco Opera and later the Seattle Opera. She also went to every ballet and symphony in the ‘City’. She enjoyed traveling the world with her friends, Gerry Furnia and Mary Lou Hughes. In Portland she became a docent at the Oregon Zoo. Pat enjoyed learning as much as teaching and was a life-long student herself.Pat was by nature a warm and happy person who brought sunshine into the lives of everyone she met – especially her cousins, Rob and Mary Ellen Brewer, when they were growing up, and, then, to their own children as well.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard. She will be lovingly remembered by all her cousins, Rob Brewer, Mary Ellen Peters, Scott Harriage, Mike Harriage, Roger Harriage and their families.
