Kenneth Edward Koonrad, 34, was taken from his family on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017. Kenny was born on Feb. 2, 1982, in McCleary, Wash. to Patricia and Robert Koonrad.

May 23, 2003, was the greatest day of Kenny’s life. It was on this day that his son Kenny Koonrad was born. Kenny was a proud father, who worked hard to make a home for his son. He recently bought their first home in Montesano. He assisted in coaching Kenny’s football and baseball.

Kenny was known as a protector to all and loved his family and friends. He loved helping others. He was the first to show up and the last one to leave.

He loved Johnny’s Seasoning, country music, bonfires, coffee stands, and hanging out with friends. Kenny worked for Award Construction.

In addition to his parents Patty Koonrad of Montesano, Bob Koonrad and Terry Medley of North Dakota, Kenny is survived by siblings Tina (Koonrad) Purdy of North Dakota, Juanita Koonrad, Robert Koonrad and Nick Bailey all of Montesano; step-siblings Whitney Koonrad, Brittney D’Alexandro, Jacob Hall, Dawn Morales, Dustin McMahon, Bradly Hall, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Bobbi Jean Koonrad and Patty Underwood.

There will be a potluck celebration of life at the Montesano Moose Lodge on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at noon. There is a memorial fund set up at Great Northwest Federal Credit Union for Kenny Koonrad.
