Dexter Germeaux, 88, a resident of Puyallup, Wash., for the last 12 years, passed away June 11, 2018, after an illness of the last few months.
Dexter was born in Montesano Feb. 1, 1930, to Raoul and Martha Germeaux. He worked in the logging business for nearly 40 years in western Washington during the heyday of the timber business, including Weyerhaeuser in Grays Harbor and Western Shake of Aberdeen.
He married the love of his life, Ingrid Johnson, Jan. 31, 1953, and raised their four children in Aberdeen. They just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in January with a grand party at the home of their daughter Debbie, surrounded by many relatives, some who flew in from other areas for the occasion. Fishing was Dexter’s favorite pastime, and loved talking about his trips and his many adventures. He was a 25 year member of Northwest Family Church in Auburn, Wash.
He will be greatly missed by all those who survive him; his wife Ingrid; their children Ron (Shelley), Rick (Nancy) Debbie (Jeanie) and Mike; one brother, Donald (Kate) of Spokane; grandchildren Kristen, Brianna, Natalie, Shelby, and Katelyn, and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Nate and Kate.
A time a visitation will take place from 9 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash. Funeral services will be held in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s chapel at 11a.m., followed by a graveside service at Fern Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Dorothy Mann Reception Room at Fern Hill Funeral Home.
