David L. Hiner died unexpectedly in Montesano, Wash. at the age of 87.
David was born on Dec. 11, 1928 in Hemingford, Box Butte County, Neb., and moved to Idaho with his parents in the 1930’s.
He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering, after serving his Country as an Army Corporal on the front lines of the Korean War.
Mr. Hiner married Margery Parker in Seattle in December 1956 and worked as an engineer for The Boeing Airplane Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Boeing Management Assn. The Hiners lived on Vashon Island, Wash. for 48 years, moving to Montesano in 2015 to be closer to family. In September of this year, he attended his 70th high school class reunion in Nampa, Idaho.
David is survived by Margery, his wife of 59 years, three sons and their wives: Martin and Melisse of Weiser, Idaho, Loren and Dawn of Montesano, Wash., Wayne and Juanita of Oak Harbor, Wash., his sister, Marilyn Bays of Vancouver, Wash., 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorrine and Hazel (Willard) Hiner of Nampa, Idaho and two infant sisters.
David’s final resting place will be in Tahoma National Cemetery, in Kent, Wash.
