Dave passed away suddenly in Montesano on Jan. 5, 2019. He was born to Arthur and Arlene (Cannon) Anderson on April 26, 1959, in Aberdeen, Washington. Dave was a longtime resident of Grays Harbor, living in Montesano most his life.
He graduated from Montesano High School in 1977. After graduation, Dave worked for Dave Williams Logging as a chaser and continued to work in the woods for many years. He also worked in auto mechanics and would often be found tinkering on his cars. He was a jack of all trades. His family nicknamed him MacGyver, as he had a talent for fixing things in unconventional ways.
Dave had a love of nature and the outdoors and was a true woodsman at heart. Dave also had a love for music and played the guitar. He was inspired by legendary musician Kurt Cobain and never gave up his own dream of one day becoming a rock star. Many of Dave’s good friends knew him as “Rock Star Dave”.
He is survived by his sister Claudia Anderson of Bellingham, Washington; nieces Shellie Pullar, Charity Jacobsen, Shellyne Anderson and Jessica Kuzmack and nephews Matthew, Zack and Issac Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Montesano Church of God, 317 E Spruce St, Montesano. Following is a potluck in the fellowship hall. Please bring your favorite dish and share memories. “Come as you are”.
