The Elma Veterans of Foreign Wars Bill Mann Post 1948 and its Auxilary group invites the public to a parade to honor the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, according to a release from the Elma Chamber of Commerce.
There will be a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Elma Veterans’s Memorial Park near East Main Street and East Young Street.
A parade kicks off at 1 p.m. on Main in downtown Elma. Covered seating will be available at Third and Main streets at the Elma Visitors Station. Prizes will be given for the most patriotic, judges choice and most creative parade entries. To find out how to enter, call Bo Brown at 360-482-3469.
There also will be a Veterans Day lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Elma Grange, Fourth and Waldrip streets. They are accepting donations but parade participants get a free lunch. For more information, contact the Elma Chamber of Commerce at 360-482-3055.

Thursday, Nov. 8
Aberdeen Elks Lodge’s annual Veterans Dinner will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner served at 6 with a choice ofchicken cordon bleu or baron of beef. $15 per person/free for veterans. RSVP to 360-532-2211 by Nov. 6.
Friday, Nov. 9
Elma High School will honor veterans at an assembly at 10:30 a.m. in the gymnasium.
Saturday, Nov. 10
Hoquiam VFW will have a Veterans Day service at 11 a.m. at the post home, 407 7th St. followed by a hot dogs and salads forlunch.
Sunday, Nov. 11
• Elma VFW Bill Mann Post 1948 and Auxiliary will host a memorial ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Elma Veterans MemorialPark on Main Street.
The Grand Parade is at 1 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Elma. Covered seating will be available at Third and Main, at theElma Visitors Station.
Lunch will be provided by the VFW and Auxiliary to parade participants between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Elma Grange, onthe corner of Fourth and Waldrip.

• Gen. James H. Doolittle VFW Post 3057 will host a guest speaker, live bugle music, doughnuts and coffee at 11 a.m. at 211Pacific E. in Westport.
• Hoquiam Elks Lodge will host a Veterans Day prime rib dinner with a social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner served at 6. $15 perperson/free for veterans.
Monday, Nov. 12
Hoquiam High School band and choir members will present the annual Veterans Day Concert at 2 and 7 p.m at the SeventhSt. Theatre. There is no charge for the concert but those attending are asked to bring canned food for Food Ball.
