Incumbent Dave Timmons was re-elected Tuesday to a second six-year term on the Grays Harbor Public Utility District Commission.
He is deputy chief of the Aberdeen Police Department and a Central Park resident.
Timmons garnered 8,887 votes (56.3 percent) and challenger David Jennings received 6,913 votes (43.7 percent). Jennings is a correctional industries supervisor for the state Department of Corrections and regularly attends PUD commission meetings.
The incumbent said during the campaign that he continues to learn about the industry by developing relationships with legislators, Bonneville Power Administration officials and others in positions that could influence the industry as advocates for the PUD’s ratepayers.
Timmons second-term priorities would be to conduct long-term financial planning for the PUD and keep the utility provider to a conservative budget. He also wants to focus on urgent needs when it comes to making capital spending priorities.
The PUD provides electric and telecommunication services to the customers of the systems it owns and operates and develops facilities needed to distribute power. Commissioners oversee these operations.
