Jan. 6

Suspicious person/circumstance. 1000 W block Main St. 9:30 a.m. Contacted by school regarding one male and two females who appeared to be under the influence. Were later seen at 10 a.m. around metal shop.

Jan. 8

Suspicious person/circumstance. 1000 block W Main St. Unknown vehicle parked in the staff parking lot.

Theft from vehicle. 600 block N. 13 St. 8:30 a.m. Owner parked vehicle in driveway, discovered in the morning that the driver-side door was open about 8 inches. Victim states there were items missing from the vehicle including a wallet and $300.

Alarm. Dakota Lane. 12:08 p.m. Front door found ajar. Nothing out of place within residence. Was perhaps an oversight or a wind-related issue.

Suspicious person/circumstance. 1700 block W. Martin St. 12:37 p.m. Individual attempted to steal the battery out of a boat. Wingnut was removed, but the other bolt remained in place. Extra patrols requested for the area.

Theft from vehicle: 600 block N. 13 St. 6:48 p.m. Car potentially left unlocked, as no alarm sounded. Vehicle owner missing a Whisper radar detector.

Jan. 9

Suspicious person/circumstance. 600 block E. Main St. 4:55 a.m. Male and female both with backpacks trying to open doors to businesses. Male had a baseball bat in backpack. Made contact, no problems.

Theft. 200 block W. Pine St. 11:25 a.m. Unknown suspects stole three plastic 6-gallon marine gas tanks from boat valued at around $80 each. The items were last noticed within the boat in July of 2016.

Jan. 10

Suspicious person/circumstance. 700 block E. Main St. 3:04 p.m. 2 individuals loitering around location. No obvious signs of impairment. Were advised to move along, and complied.

Jan. 11

911 Open line. 1000 block W. Main St. 8:09 a.m. Several voices, including one female talking about how high she is and how she has to hold herself up. States she cannot see. No response to call taker.

Jan. 12

Hit and run property damage. 1500 block W. Main St. 9:13 a.m. Victim travelling eastbound when hit in the right front passenger side tire and quarter panel, causing damage. Before information could be exchanged, and after the victim made apparent the need to call the police, the other driver placed the damaged parts of their vehicle back into their vehicle and left the scene. No serious injuries.

Extra patrols. 1000 block Oakhurst Drive. 4:57 p.m. Vehicles parking on the side of the road, which is unusual for the area.

Trespassing. 800 block E. Main St. 8:22 p.m. Male refuses to move vehicle which is out of gas. He then proceeded to take items out of the vehicle and trash the surrounding area.

Weapon offense: East of 3rd St. 9:49 p.m. Gun shots reported.
