A planned power outage begins tonight at 10 p.m. in downtown Montesano.
The outage is expected to last until 6 a.m. and will impact about 75 customers. During the outage, Grays Harbor PUD crews will perform maintenance work and replace damaged distribution equipment.
The outage will impact all customers on Marcy Avenue, including those on the intersection of Marcy Avenue and Third Street to the intersection of Marcy and South Sylvia Street. In addition, customers will be impacted at:
• Fleet Street from Broadway Avenue south to the railroad crossing
• South First Street from Broadway south to the railroad crossing
• North River Street from Broadway south to Pioneer Avenue
• The west side of South Sylvia from Broadway south to Marcy Avenue
All impacted customers will receive written notification and a reminder telephone message will be sent the day of the outage.
In preparation for the outage, customers are advised to take precautions with any electronic equipment such as computers, televisions and microwaves by unplugging those items. Leave the equipment disconnected until after the power has been fully restored.
The outage time of eight hours is only an estimate and power could be restored at any time as work is completed. It is not safe to do electrical work or repairs during the outage.
