CORRECTION: Early morning accident sends two to hospital

Vehicle left state Route 107 around 3:30 a.m.

A 20-year-old Elma woman faces a DUI charge after a single car crash early today (Feb. 14) sent her two passengers to the hospital.

The woman was driving a 2019 Kia Forte south on state Route 107 at Preachers Slough Road when the vehicle veered right and struck an embankment, according to a release from the Washington State Patrol. The car came to a stop in a ditch on the southbound side of Route 107 around 3:30 a.m. Friday (Feb. 14).

Two passengers — both women, one 19 years old from Cosmopolis and the other 20 years old from Aberdeen — were taken to Grays Harbor Community Hospital with injuries. All three people in the car were wearing seat belts.

The car was totaled.
