Volunteers pose atop recently laid blacktop at Larry Quinn Memorial Park. A grassroots effort, volunteers have been raising funds to repurpose defunct tennis courts into basketball courts at 3rd Street and Simpson Avenue in Montesano. Ryan Watkins, who has led the effort, hopes to have the park open by mid-September. Larry Quinn was a longtime coach of athletics throughout Grays Harbor. He died in July 2013.
