• The Grays Harbor ACLU meets the third Wednesday of every month for a potluck at 6 p.m. at Events on Emerson (212 4th St. in Hoquiam).

• Family Storytime. Wednesdays, 10:30-11 a.m. at Elma Timberland Library. Music, movement, and books for the whole family. All ages. (December-April)

• Bilingual story time at the Elma Timberland Library, 4 p.m. on Thursdays. Stories, rhymes and songs in spanish and English.

• Storytime Anytime. Through April 2017 at Oakville Timberland Library. Stop by anytime during open hours for a story.

At the libraries

• McCleary Timberland Library presents Tech Help, 2-3:40 p.m. for adults. Come to learn or improve your basic computer skills, or bring your ipad, kindle, tablet or phone to discover the ins and outs of the device.

•Montesano Timberland Library presents PageTurners Book Discussion, 6:30-8 p.m. for adults. Join others for a discussion of “A Girl Named Zippy” by Haven Kimmel.

Entertainment

• The Dukes of Swing will hold their monthly dance at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge from 7-9 p.m. All are welcome.

• Board of Commissioners of the Grays Harbor Hospital District #1 will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at Summit Pacific Medical Center in the Kelsey Conference Room.

At the libraries

• Montesano Timberland Library presents Play Group, 10:30 a.m.-noon for children. Songs, stories and play for children birth to 6 years with a participating adult.

Events

• Elma Eagles Youth Football fundraiser 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (404 W. Young St. in Elma). Pulled pork dinner, dessert and silent auction. Cost is $8 per person, 5 and younger are free.

Entertainment

• Montesano High School will hold its spring musical “Twelfth Night” 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Montesano High School commons. All on April 29 at the same time, and April 30 at 2 p.m.

Saturday, April 29

At the libraries

• Teen Movie at 2 p.m. at Elma Timberland Library. Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Elma Timberland Library.

• Hoquiam Timberland Library presents Gardening for Renters, 1-2 p.m for adults and teens. Join Master Gardeners and learn about the many alternative gardening options for people who rent.

Monday, May 1

• Elma High School FFA will host a plant sale fundraiser Monday-Friday (May 5) from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday (May 6) 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Elma High School greenhouse.

Tuesday, May 2

Entertainment

• Ladies Day entertainment at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino every Tuesday in May at 6 p.m. Entertainers throughout the month include Ericka Corban, Tiffany Maki, Paul Bouma, Ericka Corban (May 23) and Kurt Lindsay. Free shuttle available.

Wednesday, May 3

At the libraries

• Hoquiam Timberland Library presents LEGO Club, 4:30-6 p.m. for children. Build, play and have fun with the library’s collection of LEGO bricks.

Thursday, May 4

Entertainment

• Throwback Thursdays at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino every Thursday in May at 6 p.m. Entertainers throughout the month include Leon Harder, Bobby Valencia, James Mitchell and Leon Harder (May 25). Free shuttle available.

Meetings

• A coffee club meeting will be held at 11 a.m. at Brandon Klinger’s Edward Jones office (211 S. Main St., suite 1A in Montesano).

Friday, May 5

Events

• Nominations are still being accepted for Elma Citizen of the Year. The recognition banquet will be held at the Elma Eagles Banquet Hall with entertainment from Ericka Corban starting at 6 p.m. A prime rib dinner will be provided at 7 p.m. with the award presentation and dessert auction to take place after dinner. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Elma Variety Store, Dennis Company, Elma Pharmacy and the Elma Chamber of Commerce.

Entertainment

• Mantra will perform at Quinault Resort and Casino starting at 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 6. Funk Factory will also perform on both dates.

Saturday, May 6

Events

• McCleary United Methodist Church will host at 1 p.m. the McCleary UMW Mother’s Tea, Abundant Health for Women and Children. There will be a special guest speaker. 426 South 3rd Street, McCleary. Donations will be accepted.

• Costal Waters District BSA will decommission Camp Delezenne Elma, 1963-2017, from 4-7 p.m. Activities will include flag retire, firebowl, campsite visitation and sharing of Delezenne camp experiences. Bear totems to share. Refreshments will be provided.

At the libraries

• Elma Timberland Library presents Builders and Tinkerers, 1-4:30 p.m. for all ages. Come to the library to tweak, test, try out and build with exciting new technology tools and toys.

Tuesday, May 9

Events

• An American Red Cross blood drive will be held 1:30-7 p.m. at Montesano Presbyterian (201 McBryde Ave. E.).

At the libraries

• Hoquiam Timberland Library presents Pageturners Book Discussion, 7-8 p.m. for adults. Come discuss “The Orchardist” by Amanda Coplin.

•The Friends of the McCleary Timberland Library will meet from 11 a.m.-noon in the library meeting room.

Wednesday, May 10

• The McCleary Timberland Library will be closed for staff training. The library will resume its regular schedule Thursday, May 11. All other Grays Harbor County Timberland Libraries will be open as usual.

Thursday, May 11

• Mary Fran Lewis will be presenting a slideshow on her trip to Morocco in the meeting room of the Montesano Timberland Library at 7 p.m. Entry will be off the back alley.
