The Elma Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Coffee Coop is Elma Business of the Quarter for the first Quarter of 2018.
Coffee Coop was voted Elma Business of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2018 by the Elma Chamber of Commerce membership.
The plaque awarded says “presented to Coffee Coop for enhancement to Elma and support of the business community, Jan – Mar 2018.”
The award was accepted by owners Lisa and Brian Sutherby.
The Coffee Coop was established in 2003. The Sutherby’s purchased the business July 1, 2017, and currently have six employees. Taking over an established business at first glance seems like an easy task, but Lisa is always trying to come up with ways to improve, a Chamber press release said.
“The most noteworthy goal at this time is getting Lisa’s homemade goodies up for sale,” the Chamber wrote.
The Coffee Coop strives to do more than just provide a great cup of coffee. They enjoy doing raffles for Seahawks tickets, Sounders tickets and gift cards.
“They are always looking for fun ideas and have an upcoming Redbull/Lotus Challenge that they think their customers will really like,” the Chamber wrote.
The Coffee Coop is active in supporting the community. A few of the groups they sponsor or actively volunteer with are: Elma Chamber Winter Wine Festival, Grays Harbor Mounted Posse Rodeo, Heat on the Street, Elma Little League, Football and Basketball, Garrett Thomas Racing, Grays Harbor Homeless Backpacks, Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame, Elma Flight Foundation and Elma PTA.
“The Coffee Coop truly appreciates the outpouring of support they have received from their community, and look forward to continuing to improve their family business,” the Chamber wrote.
