A 19-year-old Aberdeen woman was killed early Friday while fleeing from the Washington State Patrol, a release from the WSP states.
The vehicle the woman was driving attempted to flee from a WSP unit “with emergency equipment activated,” the release states. Trooper chased the vehicle for 5 miles before the vehicle went off the roadway to the left and rolled several times as her vehicle neared Elma westbound on state Route 8. The driver was attempting to change lanes to go around a chip truck, the release states.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.
A person with a similar name faced multiple drug, bail-jumping and other charges out of Thurston County. However, Grays Harbor News Group has not yet confirmed the identity of the driver.
