A special county election filing period ends today at 4:30 p.m.

After the initial filing period, 21 offices across the county lacked candidates.

Most positions are at school district boards in North Beach, Quinault, Satsop, North River, Oakville and Rochester; and at five fire districts.

Elections Administrator Scott Turnbull said the county already has received one candidate for Hoquiam Council Ward 6 Position 12.

The following elected positions in the county were left uncontested after the first filing period. A second filing period began Monday and ends at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Hoquiam Council Ward 6: Position 12

North Beach School District: Director District 1 and Director District 5

Quinault School District: Director District 4

Satsop School District: Director Position 1 and Position 3

North River School District: Director Position 3, Director Position 4 and Director Position 5

Oakville School District: Director District 4

Rochester School District: Director District 3

Fire District 4: Position 2

Fire District 6: Position 5

Fire District 12: Position 2

Fire District 16: Position 3

Park District 1: Position 2 and Position 3

Cemetery District 1: Commissioner 2

Water District 8: Position 3

South Beach Regional Fire Authority: Commissioner District 2 and Commissioner District 3
