The Satsop Embroidery Club met at Mary Patton’s home on Thursday, Sept. 15. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and a good day of catching up with everyone on how their summer has been. Hard to believe fall is here already.

On Sept. 20, the Elma Class of 1956 met at Lucky Eagle for their 60-year reunion. A good turnout of classmates and spouses and a fun afternoon of visiting with everyone.

On Sept. 22, I met with Martha O’Grady, Karen Hall, Marcia Grace and Judy Prince for lunch at Applebee’s in Olympia. Always a fun lunch with friends from high school when we get together.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, I attended the memorial service for Clara Rowe. A beautiful memorial attended by so many friends and family. Clara will be missed by all of us who had the joy of knowing and working with her at Elma Elementary.

It has been a busy past few weeks at the Satsop Methodist Church. Paulette Straughn, President of the Satsop UMW, presented Myrna Manier with a “Special Mission Recognition” plaque and pin for her ministries with the women, youth and children in the Satsop area. Plans are underway for the Fall Harvest Dinner and Bazaar at the church on Oct. 18. from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Ed Comfort put coins in for his birthday.

Joys: Shirley Berry Wunder is here visiting from California. She came up for her class reunion and is spending time visiting with Red and Barb Tarman. Kendrick Parson lost his front tooth and is very proud he pulled it out himself.

Prayers for healing: Cindy Nuxoll’s friend, Janell, Dick Bramstedt, Red Tarman, Lewis and Penny Hubler and her father, Arland and Keith McMaster. Please keep them in your prayers. Prayers for the families in the loss of their loved ones, Larry Patton and Scott Howorth.

This past Sunday Pastor K was sick and not able to come to church. We were blessed that Pastor LouAnn Houle from the Elma Church of God offered to come and lead our service. Thank You Pastor LouAnn, it was a joy for me to see you and to have you serve our church while Pastor K gets better.
