Co-workers back Louthan for clerk
We are employees of the Grays Harbor County Clerk’s Office and would like the public to know that we fully support Janice Louthan in her quest to be the next Grays Harbor County Clerk.
Janice is a hard working dedicated employee who has more than proved her commitment to the County Clerk’s Office over the past 28 years. She is usually the first to arrive and the last to leave each day, even giving up part of her lunch hour if someone needs help.
Janice not only does her job of financials, working with restitution payment schedules, payroll, A/R, A/P, inventory, search warrants, entering judgments, dispersing funds, quality control of documents, just to name a few, she also fills in on a daily basis, with customer service, answering phones, scanning, look ups, filing and training.
As a taxpayer does it make sense to pay $79,000-plus a year to someone who doesn’t have the background, experience or know any aspect of the County Clerk Office when there is a candidate who knows the job inside and out, who started at the bottom 28 years ago and has worked her way up to the position of Chief Deputy Clerk, which she has held for the past 16 years?
We do not feel that it is in the best interest of the hard-working taxpayers to pay that salary to train someone for a job when there is a highly qualified person working for the clerk’s office now and running for the position.
Her style is not loud and boisterous; she has a calm and reassuring character that puts people at ease during a difficult time in their life.
Janice Louthan is the only candidate who can fill in when and where needed at any given moment. Janice would be a working clerk in addition to her administrative duties.
Can the same be said for her opponent?
We represent a combined experience of almost 100 years in the County Clerk’s Office and support Janice Louthan as the County Clerk.
