Hello everyone, welcome back to another edition of Dog Dayz.

The sun is really starting to show itself and the end of the school year is as well. Spring sports have come to a close for everyone and Montesano had state champions.

The state champions were the girls golfers who had all six of their varsity golfers make it to state, and with their combined scores coming in first place.

‘The boys golf team was also state champs, but academically. They won academic state champs for boys golf.

My family and I want to Tri Cities to watch the girls softball team, and it was a fun experience that we have now done two years in a row.

Obviously, I would rather have been in Yakima in the final four for baseball, but that didn’t necessarily work out. In Tri Cities I got to hang out with a lot of guys who also made the drive who I played football, basketball and baseball with this year, and it was a fun way to end my school career with the seniors of the group.

My baseball team was eliminated in the final eight to Cedar Park Christian in Tacoma. It sure stinks to not be playing with that group of guys anymore. We were a special team that was one of the best in the state. Maybe we could’ve gotten a higher final ranking if we had double elimination like the girls.

As most people’s lives are about to slow down for the summer, I will be as busy as usual with the only difference being no school.

Summer baseball, basketball and football have all started up.

Baseball is legion ball for the school, and I hope to get better this summer and really prepare myself for a breakout year my junior season.

Basketball will consist of leagues during the week, tournaments on the weekends, and a couple camps including Gonzaga that I am looking forward to.

Finally, football will consist of practices and 7 on 7’s leading up to team camp at Central Washington University after school gets out.

In National Honor Society I was nominated to be vice president of the club and was voted on and won the election. I am the only incoming junior on the committee of officers with the others all being incoming seniors, so hopefully I will learn a lot from them.

My grades are also currently at a 4.0 GPA and with about two weeks left and a couple big tests coming up I really need to focus in and lock the 4 point up. As you know that is one of the most important things for me to accomplish in high school.

It is also starting to dawn on me that the seniors are going to be gone very soon, and I am really going to miss them. From lifelong friends, to new great friends that I have met and gotten to know in sports and clubs. There are too many great seniors to count that will be tough to see go. I wish them all the best in all they do and know we will keep in touch even after high school ends.

This month I also enjoyed the new Avengers movie that just blew my mind in every way. It was a huge hit, that had an unexpected ending.

I also got to enjoy the Mariners having a great month of baseball, which I am hoping will translate on to the rest of the months of the season, because I just want them to make the playoffs.

Coming up for me will be my birthday in June and I’ll finally be able to drive.

I have been watching all my friends, one by one, get their licenses, so I am excited it will finally be my turn. I hope you have as exciting of a month as I will. A Happy Father’s Day to my dad and all the other dads out there.
