Ronnie Lee Johanson, 62, Elma native and former car parts salesman, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at his home in Malone, Wash.

Ronnie was born on March 27, 1955, in Aberdeen to Donald Marshall and Frances June (Thompson) Johanson. He grew up in South Elma and graduated from Elma High School in 1973.

Ron worked for Cut Rate Auto Parts in Elma for about 10 years. Before that he worked for NAPA for 15 years. He had also worked for Les Schwab in Elma and when he was younger, had worked at various shake mills in the area including Peirce & Zile in McCleary. He had worked for two years on the fishing boat ‘Casey L’ in Alaska.

He was a member of the Elma Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1440 and a Volunteer Fireman and EMT for the Porter Fire District #5. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, playing poker, western movies, motorcycle riding, working on cars and giving change to the grandkids. He also helped paint cars with his son Chris.

Ronnie is survived by his son Chris (Jamie) Johanson of Elma, Wash.; two daughters: Marjorie (Jeremiah) Campbell of Bolivia and Sheena (Mike) Bergmann of Oakville, Wash.; brother Dirk (Terri) Johanson of Elma, Wash.; a sister Norma Johanson of Elma, Wash.; eight grandkids: Nicole, Anna and Kensi Johanson, Jace and Jaylee Cayenne and Mckenna Bergmann and Judah and Makayla Campbell. He was preceded in death by his brother Craig Johanson.

A celebration of Ron’s life will take place on March 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. in Malone at the Assembly of God Church 23 Mox Chehalis Rd.

The Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ron’s honor to Malone Assembly of God.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash.
