Kellie Dalan, a former University of Washington women’s basketball player, will be coaching the Monte Mayhem, a sixth-grade girls AAU select basketball team.

While at UW, Dalan was a four-year scholarship athlete who played on the Huskies 2001 NCAA Elite 8 team.

The Monte Mayhem will be holding open tryouts during the month of September.

Dalan says she is looking for sixth-grade girls who love playing team basketball and want to improve their game by focusing on fundamentals.

The Monte Mayhem has all volunteer coaches. They practice twice a week and will be playing in area AAU tournaments and leagues this season. For more information on tryouts, visit the team website at www.montehoops.net.
