Marilyn Kay Leitgeb Olson
Marilyn Kay Leitgeb Olson, a gentle compassionate soul, passed away peacefully in her home on June 22, 2017.
While there are no words that could truly describe such an incredible woman, Marilyn was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She had a profound and impassioned love of her family and made all of her friends feel like family. She surrounded herself with beauty by covering every wall, nook, and cranny of her home with photos and artwork. She used the strength of her inner beauty to empower her family and friends to make them feel special.
She was a master interior/exterior decorator, gardener, gourmet chef, caterer and collector. She loved music, books, art, movies, photography, genealogy and re-purposing the old into something new. She had an eye for finding diamonds in the rough. She loved to travel with Jerry, family, and friends and often documented the entire trip in a diary and a photo album. She loved to visit with people and listen to their stories. She enjoyed the good things in life; good family, friends and food. She was not a fan of humming birds or lizards. She fearlessly lived her dreams every day pouring her hard work and dedication into everything her own way.
Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of strength, spirit and beauty that will endure the test of time through her family and friends. She is greatly missed and forever loved.
Marilyn will be laid to rest at a private family graveside service. At a later date there will be a gathering in McCleary for all family and friends to celebrate Marilyn’s life.
