ELMA — With NASCAR talent on the agenda, fans were disappointed and unable to see if Kenny Schrader would take a win during the Wild West Modified Shootout main event June 22-23.
Those who did brave the threat of eventual rain did get a chance to see Schrader take a third-place finish in the Modified second heat race. Twenty-nine cars were on hand to chase after the s9 car, but they will have to wait for another opportunity.
The only race that did make completion for the June 22 night of racing was the Hornet class. Zack Floreck took the flag with Will Wright and Shane Norton taking second and third respectively.
Even with a shortened schedule Friday and a complete cancellation Saturday, a new track record was set for the Hobby Stocks. Able to get in two laps before the track was determined unsafe to continue, Brian Harding of Oakville set a fast lap time of 17.543 seconds.
Racing is slated to continue next weekend with Sprints, Modifieds, Hobby Stock and Hornets scheduled for June 30.
