A trip through Elma offers a roar of excitement with a stop at the Grays Harbor Raceway.

This .375-mile dirt track packs in the fastest times for 360 Sprints, Modifieds, Hobby Stocks, Midgets and Hornet class of racing.

Co-located with the Elma fairgrounds, once a horse track as well, the fast and the furious have taken over the weekends to the delight of families and fans.

This year the track is trying to pack even more excitement with an occasional weekday race featuring special classifications of cars like the Dwarfs.

The schedule runs from April through September with special races in the heat of the summer. The Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular is scheduled for July 7 and features the mid-season championships complete with fireworks.

The 13th Annual Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals will be on the July 27th weekend with the Fair Race on Aug. 11.

This year the World of Outlaws are back on the race schedule for Aug. 29 and the season finishes Sept. 29.

If you have the need for speed in your own control, travel a bit further to McCleary and the Straddleline ORV Park and take a put on the many trails or motocross track.

In its first full year of management, Promoto Promotions is providing an action packed season with 4x4 events, trial rides, endouros and Pacwest motor cross action.

A campsite is available for your RV and the entire family can enjoy a day in the sun with tree-covered trails and plenty of dirt to kick up.
