WOODLAND — The Bulldogs improved their season on the road with a win over non-league Woodland, 49-7.
Elliott Mendenhall continued to rack up the points and yardage for Montesano bring in three touchdowns on a combination of rushing and passing. In total the Bulldogs took in 427 offensive yards.
The Bulldogs handed the Beavers their first season loss during the contest improving Montesano’s standing to 2-2. Scoring for the Bulldogs; Mendenhall three times, Tucker Ibabao, Ben Ohashi, Matthew Jensen, Anthony Louthan and Shad Rogers. Louthan went 5-7 in PAT’s, Montesano converted a two-point conversion, a pass to Ohashi and Jensen recovered a fumble for a score. Jensen also sought out Richard Smith for a pair of receptions totaling 32 yards, adding to the teams total offensive yardage.
The Beavers would score only once in the first quarter and never have an opportunity to place any more against the Bulldog defense.
Montesano will host its first home away from home game at Stewart Field in Aberdeen on Sept. 27. The game will be against Forks.
