Monte boys soccer coach resigns

Jeff Lenherr has resigned as Montesano High School’s boys soccer coach, it was announced at the Nov. 21 school board meeting. He will continue as the Bulldog girls coach.

The position is being posted, Montesano athletic director Tim Trimble confirmed last week.

Lenherr said time constraints prompted the decision.

Lenherr succeeded Eric Stanfield as Montesano’s boys coach in 2012. He had previously coached the Elma boys team for four years. He recently completed his sixth season as Monte’s girls coach.

Lenherr’s Monte boys team had a 5-11 record last season. The Bulldog girls have earned state berths in five of his six seasons at the helm.
