The Montesano High School girls tennis team completed their regular season with a pair of wins over White Salmon in a Southwest Washington 1A League match on May 14.

Monte’s doubles teams of April Easter and Katie Ayres and Elizabeth Taborski and Bailey Malizia completed unbeaten regular seasons with a pair of straight-set victories.

The Bulldogs (6-4) also took advantage of a reshuffled White Salmon singles lineup in the second match. Hunter Hancock was particularly impressive in a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Olivia Grim.

“Everybody played quite a bit better than last time,” Bulldog coach Theresa Helland said. “Hunter Hancock played way better than she did down there. She’s finally learning to anticipate and she’s moving to the ball much better.”
