Monte golfers record best scores of season

Monte golfers record best scores of season

The Montesano and Elma High School girls golf teams took advantage of the warm weather on May 1 to shoot some of the best scores of the season.

Montesano won the team competition over Elma and Rochester with a total score of 226. Elma finished with a total of 230 to finish second and Rochester came in third with a total of 304.

Elma’s Lauryn Keating won medalist honors with a score of 38. Madi Besaw recorded the low score for Monte with a 52.

“Those are by far our best individual scores of the season, so it was nice to see all the kids come together at the same time,” Monte coach Lloyd Aldrich said. “I think they enjoyed the opportunity to play in some nice weather.”

Montesano (226) — Madi Besaw 52, Brooke Whitsell 58, Ashley Aschim 59, Sami St. Onge 61, Joa Yun 57, Josie Talley 72.

Elma (230) — Lauryn Keating 38, Morgan Rockey 66, Tiana Cox 53, Paige Kershaw 73.

Rochester (304) — Nicole Fry 69, Mati Ashton 66, Kyra Letteer 73, Natalie Bethune 96.
