There are many reasons to run. Some people run for the thrill … that heightened sense that comes with adrenaline. Others run for health, realizing that increased circulation and regular exercise is good for the body. Others run as an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy fresh air.
Whatever your reason, the SURE Club at Montesano High School is giving folks yet another reason: Support your Bulldogs!
According to Justin Raines, proceeds from the event go to fund SURE Club activities to foster good health and welfare, specifically targeting issues involved in underage drinking and drug use among other hazards of youth.
Come work off some of those Thanksgiving pounds in the crisp winter air while supporting local youths!
This year’s Jingle Bell Jog offers a dual experience. The 2-mile (3.2 kilometer) Fun Run is a circuit in the City of Montesano, while the 12-kilometer (7.45 miles) run is more or less a straight shot out into the flats south of town.
Registration forms and more information can be acquired at the high school through Raines (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The fee for an adult is $20 ($15 for runners under 18) for those who pre-register. The morning of the run, Saturday, Dec. 8, fees go up to $25 for adults ($18 for youths).
