The following are summaries of selected cases filed in Grays Harbor County Superior Court for alleged crimes and individuals in our primary readership area. Information is from public court records. Ramon T. Barragan Jr. — Barragan, 23, of Hoquiam was charged Aug. 6 with first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
After Hoquiam Police received a report Aug. 3 of a stolen firearm believed to have been taken by Barragan, who previously had been convicted of a Class B felony, he was arrested on outstanding warrants and a vehicle he was in was seized and searched. Police found the Colt .45 pistol that had been reported stolen in the trunk of the vehicle.
Barragan pleaded not guilty Aug. 6. Bail was set at $15,000.
Paul D. Crawford — Crawford, 20, of Hoquiam was charged Aug. 3 with one count of second-degree burglary and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
Following a homeowner’s tip of suspicious activity July 20 on Sumner Avenue, including a description of an individual, Hoquiam Police found Crawford in the immediate area. Asked about his activities and property that he was carrying, Crawford allegedly stated he had received the items from a third person. A search of Crawford, who allegedly had entered a garage and removed some items, revealed a quantity of methamphetamine.
He pleaded not guilty Aug. 6. Bail was set at $20,000.
Jared C. Locke — Locke, 24, of Aberdeen was charged Aug. 8 with possession of heroin.
When an Aberdeen patrol officer saw two individuals in dark clothing carrying backpacks July 20 along South Park Street, because of recent burglaries in the area, he circled to observe.
Later approaching the individuals, the officer asked what they were doing. They said they were waiting for a ride, and one noted being employed by the business they were behind.
Neither would produce proper identification, and police could not find any information on the names they provided. A pat down of the two revealed a wallet on one identifying him as Locke. A knife, drug paraphernalia and heroin was also found on Locke.
He was arraigned Aug. 13. Bail was set at $25,000.
Pedro Martin Lopez — Lopez, 44, of Aberdeen was charged Aug. 7 with possession of methamphetamine.
Lopez was arrested Aug. 1 for fourth-degree attempted assault and interfering with reporting domestic violence.
During a search of his person, Lopez was found in possession of methamphetamine.
Bail was set at $15,000.
Bradley A. McClain — McClain, 48, of Aberdeen was charged Aug. 7 with two counts of delivery of heroin.
Last January, the Grays Harbor County Drug Task Force initiated an investigation McClain’s activities, with regards to his suspected selling of heroin in Grays Harbor County. Working with a confidential informant, the task force made controlled purchases from McClain during the investigation.
Bail was set at $75,000.
