Thursday, Oct. 11

Suspicious Circumstance, Devonshire Road, Montesano, 6:19 p.m.: Report of two or three boys on the railroad tracks, with one of them holding a metal pole in his hand. The caller says it appeared he was trying to pry something up, but she didn’t stop, and she is concerned they were damaging the tracks. The department found the boys, who were fishing, and moved them along off of the bridge.

Weapons Offense, Mox Chehalis Road, Malone, 12:48 p.m.: Report of a person shooting a gun. The caller doesn’t know if it is illegal to shoot a gun, but says the house is a “bad house” with problems of drugs, violence and bad dogs in the past.

Civil Dispute, West Elma Gate Road, Oakville, 8:32 p.m.: Report of the caller’s nephew’s landlord illegally locking him out. The landlord has refused to allow him to retrieve his belongings. The department gave the two parties some options to try to resolve the situation.

Friday, Oct. 12

Recovered Stolen Vehicle, Brittain Road at Devonshire Road, Montesano, 9:33 p.m.: A 2002 Dodge Dakota Sport truck was found stripped, with no keys and in not in driving condition.

Saturday, Oct. 13

Suspicious Person, Schouweiler Road, Elma, 6:22 a.m.: Caller reports just speaking to a man lying on his motorcycle with his helmet and gloves on. His cell phone was on the ground and he smelled of alcohol.

Sunday, Oct. 14

Agency Assist, Monte Brady Road, Montesano, 1:24 a.m.: Report of a house fire, possibly related to the chimney.

Agency Assist, Elma McCleary Road, McCleary, 3:23 a.m.: Report of a car on fire in the front yard of a residence across the street. The caller’s husband woke the residents and evacuated them. The car exploded twice. One was taken into custody.

Juvenile Runaway, Oak Meadows Lane, Oakville, 9:12 p.m.: Caller reports her teenage stepdaughter ran away this morning, possibly with her boyfriend. The stepdaughter is diabetic and has two to three days of insulin with her.

Monday, Oct. 15

Traffic Stop, Main Street at Young Street, Elma, 3:32 a.m.: Report of a man with mental health issues and off of his “meds” having an episode while naked in a vehicle in the middle of the road. The crisis clinic was advised, and he was taken into protective custody.

Suspicious Circumstance, Wenzel Slough Road, Elma, 9:03 a.m.: Report of a large pool of blood found on a picnic table.

Suspicious Circumstance, South Bank Road at Wakefield Road, Elma, 5:12 p.m.: Report of a large plastic bag on the bridge that smells severely of rotting flesh. The department found it to be a deceased animal.

Missing Person, Melbourne Road, Montesano, 7:57 p.m.: Caller reports their son has been missing since he left to run some errands locally on Friday. He was driving the caller’s car and didn’t take his coat or cell phone with him. He was last seen heading toward Aberdeen.

Tuesday, Oct. 16

Theft, Blockhouse Road N., Elma, 8:42 a.m.: Caller reports a deputy told him to call when “the people finished stealing the rest of the railroad ties.” The caller said they were stolen overnight, and drag marks can be seen leading to an address on Blockhouse Road.

Traffic Accident, Menzo Haverly Road and Stamper Road, Elma, 3:36 p.m.: Report of a two-vehicle accident with a car and a school bus. Washington State Patrol was contacted.

Wednesday, Oct. 17

Suicide, Elma McCleary Road, McCleary, 12:45 p.m.: Caller reports that a man appears to have shot himself in a residence and is cold to the touch with no pulse or breath.

Animal-Neglect, O’Neill Road, Satsop, 11:46 a.m.: Report of a dead horse and a dying horse on a property. The department contacted the people on the property, who are the sons of the property owner. They said the horse was euthanized and they are in the process of making plans to dispose of it. They also said they plan to move the slightly thin, 28-year-old mare to more pasture.
