May 16

Malicious mischief. 500 Block S. 1st St. 2:01 p.m. Male in a black pick up had kicked reporting party’s vehicle and is now leaving the site on Main St.

Police information. 800 Block E. Pioneer Ave. 1:45 p.m. Individual reports that between approximately midnight and 1 a.m., he caught a male subject trying to break into a business across the street from his residence. The subject was a 5-foot-7-inch, 160-pound, white male with a beard wearing a dark blue coat. The reporting party said he confronted the subject and the subject got on a bicycle and rode toward downtown. The individual found a screwdriver and a broken bungee cord after the subject left.

May 17

Malicious mischief. 300 Block N. Church St. 12:21 a.m. A woman reported that someone was throwing eggs at her when she walked behind the location. They continued to throw the eggs after she got into her car.

May 18

Criminal mischief. 400 Block S. Fleet St. 11:22 a.m. An individual reports that she just found her back windshield broken out of her vehicle. It is unknown if anything was taken from inside the vehicle.

Disorderly conduct. 300 Block W. Beacon Ave. 12:52 p.m. Assistance was requested to remove an unruly parent from the location. The parent had questioned a call that was made against his daughter’s softball team and he had been asked to leave. The parent agreed to write a complaint letter to the softball organization about the call and the treatment he received and then was allowed to watch the game from the parking area.

May 19

Civil Dispute. 800 Block E. Elma Ave. 4:36 p.m. A man reported his girlfriend was in a bad mood and is throwing all of his personal belongings out of the door. Girlfriend asked him to leave and take his belongings and left them for him to pick up at the location.

May 22

Suspicion. 800 Block Medcalf St. 11:09 a.m. An officer made contact with a male and female who were sleeping inside a brown van. The female was in a business near the van yesterday and was kicked out for intoxication. Both parties were asked to leave.

May 23

Suspicious circumstance. 300 Block N. Sylvia St. 5:30 p.m. Reporting party believes he has a stolen laptop computer in his possession. Individual states he was given the computer after it was left in a friend’s car. The Dell laptop has the words Hoquiam School District engraved in the top of it. Laptop was returned to Hoquiam High School.

May 26

Malicious mischief. 2300 Block E. Beacon Ave. 5:07 p.m. Reporting party and girlfriend are breaking up and have been verbal. Last night she tore the door off the hinges. Girlfriend was arrested on citation for malicious mischief.

May 27

Hit and run. N. Academy St. and E. Broadway Ave. 7:05 p.m. Reporting party’s vehicle was hit by an unknown vehicle while the individual was parked at work.

May 28

Fraud. 700 Block W. Broadway Ave. 12:48 p.m. Individual reports she filed her tax return only to be told by the IRS that a return had been filed in her name already. Officers advised the woman that the fraud was a recuring problem with people associated with her employer.
