This police blotter is made up of reports made available by the Montesano Police Department.

Jan. 24

Suspicion. 10:59 a.m. 500 Block W. Simpson Avenue. Individual reports four to five gunshots were heard in the area. Duck hunters were found to be in the area.

Jan. 25

Malicious mischief. 11:56 p.m. 600 Block N. Sylvia Street. A report was made of a male subject throwing a piece of firewood through the front window of a residence. Officers responded to the residence and found firewood on the porch and a broken window. It was found that the resident had been given a ride home from the bar and had broken the window to gain entry after losing his keys.

Suspicious person. 7:34 p.m. Cemetery. Officer contacted subjects in a car who stated they were just relaxing smoking a hookah. The individuals were told to move on.

Jan. 26

Trespassing. 8:49 p.m. 200 Block E. Pioneer Avenue. Male inside location has been there for a while causing problems. He claims the photo printer took his debit card. Individual was booked for tresspassing.

Jan. 28

Hit and run. 3:02 p.m. 300 Block N. Church Street. An individual reported she had been backed into, yet she was not able to provide a description of the vehicle or the subject.

Jan. 30

Theft. 8:14 a.m. 800 Block N. Chehalis Street. Three vehicle were reported to have been prowled overnight. About $5 in change has been reported missing.

Theft. 12:37 p.m. Cascade Court. Two trucks, one car and one travel trailer were ransacked. Tools have been reported missing and it is unknown how much damage was done.

Theft. 12:15 p.m. Cascade Court. Report was made of a vehicle being prowled.

Feb. 2

Theft. 1:18 p.m. Boat Launch Road. Vehicle window broken out. Nothing was missing from the vehicle, but a small axe was recovered from the back of the vehicle.

Malicious mischief. 9:30 a.m. 900 Block E. Park Avenue. Individual reports damage to a brick mailbox stand. No damage was done to mailbox.

Feb. 3

Suspicious person. 3:57 p.m. Church and Marcy. A woman reports having seen an older male with gray hair and beard throw his bicycle in the bushes and flail his arms like he was going to jump in front of her car. Officers were unable to locate the individual.

Feb. 4

Shoplifting. 3:37 p.m. 400 Block W. Pioneer Avenue. A male subject was observed placing items under his shirt. When officers contacted the individual the man had no money to make a purchase and was told to not come back to the establishment unless he needed to make a purchase and had money to do so.

Suspicious circumstance. 7:31 p.m. 500 Block E. McBryde Avenue. An individual reported a grenade was left in a mailbox. The grenade was an MK2. It was drilled and did not have a striker. The item was rusty and looked like it had been in the ditch and picked up and placed in the box.
