Montesano Community Education (MCE) is soon beginning their 40th year serving the residents of our area with after hours classes of all types for all ages. Our motto is lifelong learning for all ages. We offer many life skills classes; exercise, sports, crafts, self improvement and information classes to the citizens of our area. We have run completely by many dedicated volunteers for the past four years and have stayed afloat with funds from class fees, garden tour fundraisers (thanks to Dolores Cavanagh), and donations from the community. A special thank you to Grays Harbor Community Foundation as they recently awarded us a grant to help with the printing of our class schedule for the coming year. This summer, we took a big leap of faith and hired a part-time coordinator to work with the volunteers. We had several very qualified applicants and after much deliberation, Marla Bolam was chosen for the position. She began working in mid-August and we will have our Fall Class Schedule ready by the third week of September. There will be many new as well as tried and true classes offered. Check the Timberland Libraries of Grays Harbor for a class schedule as well as many businesses in the area. We are also on Facebook and the Montesano School District web site. We are working hard to get the information in the hands of as many people as possible. If you are interested in helping with this program as a volunteer, class instructor or fundraiser please contact Marla Bolam at (360) 580-2007 or the MCE office at (360) 249-1770. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in room 18 at Simpson Elementary School and everyone is welcome. Thank you to everyone who has continued to offer support for this wonderful program.
