Mayor thanks Eagle Scout for his work on signs

Dear Editor;

Jason Thomason came to me in the spring of 2012 and asked if we had anything he could do to earn his Eagle Scout Award.

I was aware that the entrance signs into the City were in poor condition, Jason was asked if this would be a project he could handle. Some planks were rotten, all surfaces needed sanding and painting, bolts and chains were rusted. He took the assignment, made a plan, gathered his fellow scouts and they removed the signs, refurbished the wood (replaced some rotting planks), repainted with the original colors and rehung them.

Jason did a great job getting his troop involved and the signs look great. I would like to congratulate Jason on accomplishing this public service for Montesano and his reward; being made an Eagle Scout.

We owe a lot of good things to Eagle Scouts for what they have done in Montesano and this goes down as another project that has improved the appearance to visitor and resident alike.

Thank you Jason Thomason and Boy Scout Troop 4015.

Ken Estes, Mayor
