Julie Lynn “Henley” Walkowsky passed away on March 5, 2014 at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia with family and friends at her side.

Julie was born July 1, 1957, in Bellingham, to Samuel and Carole Henley. When Julie was six years old the family moved to Westport, where her father worked for Washington Crab Producers. She attended Ocosta School from 2nd through 12th grade, graduating in 1975. In high school she excelled in sports, playing volleyball, basketball, and track.

Julie’s first job was at Washington Crab Producers while still in high school. She was a cook at the famous Sea Star Restaurant in Grayland. She started her career in accounting and taxes at H&R Block. In 1990, Julie started working for Tom Burger and Associates before opening her own business in 2006, Julie L. Walkowsky EA LLC. She belonged to the National Association of Enrolled Agents since June of 2000. Her business was doing so well that she now had three employees, her daughter, Kelly Otterstetter, Fay Appleby, and Jennifer Carr. Julie loved what she did and valued her clients very much! She loved chit chatting and getting to know each and every one of her clients and about their lives.

Julie was an avid Sonics and Seahawks fan. She enjoyed going to the races and watching NASCAR with Jeff. Julie loved going to concerts, she enjoyed her music very much. She enjoyed reading and sitting in her backyard soaking up the sun whenever she could get the chance.

Julie enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the carnivals, going on rides and the yearly trek to the Lynden Fair and she never missed going to see the pig barns. Julie loved to travel, Hawaii was her favorite place. Napili Shores with her Mom and Dad, Kona too with Jeff and friends. Sun, Sea, and the perfume of plumerias in the air, what memories we have shared.

Julie was preceded in death by grandparents, Elmer and Dorothy Gerner and Mike and Wilda Little; father-in-law, Baldy Walkowsky. Julie is survived by the love of her life for 26 years, Jeff Strom of the family home in Aberdeen.
