Janice (Pullar) Myers-Malsch

Janice Ann (Pullar) Myers-Malsch age 64, passed away on July 12, 2014 at her home in Yakima, Wash. Janice was born March 15,1950 to Rellias James Pullar and Beatrice Mae (Hartnell) Pullar in Aberdeen, Wash. She grew up and lived in Montesano, Wash., and graduated from Montesano High School in 1968.

Janice met and married her first husband, George Herbert Myers on a trip to Reno, Nev. They were married from 1971 to 1982. They had one daughter, Krista Ann Myers on September 10, 1972.

Janice and Krista moved to Ellensburg, Wash. in 1983 where Janice obtained her college degree at Central Washington University. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in education.

On May 7, 1989 Janice married Douglas Michael Malsch whom preceded her in death on July 4, 2014. They both attended Washington State University and completed their degrees. Jan received her Master’s degree in Special education and spent her life as an educator.

Jan loved to travel and was an English teacher in Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. In her travels she vacationed in Dublin, Ireland, Sydney Australia and the Great Wall of China.

She is survived by her brother, William Pullar & wife Kathy of Montesano, Wash., and sisters Carol Lunceford of Montesano, Wash., Barbara Robecker of Shelton, Wash. and Bonnie Schurr of Seattle, Wash., her daughter Krista Smith and husband Corbin Reed Smith, granddaughter Viola Mae Smith and grandson Jackson Rellias Reed Smith all of Seattle, Wash.

We will be celebrating her life on September 7, 2014 at the Harbor House on Percival Landing in Olympia, Wash. from 2-4 p.m.
