Robert James Jenkins

Robert James Jenkins, 43, a builder of log furniture for JK Log Furniture in Montesano and an avid Harley rider, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013.

Jenkins lived in Aberdeen, but worked at JK Log Furniture with his brother James for 14 years. A celebration of life was conducted on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, in St. Andrew’s Episcopal church fellowship hall.

Cremation arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.

James W. Large

MONTESANO — Longtime Aberdeen resident James Woodruff Large died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was 99.

He had worked for Rayonier for 44 years. Funeral services were last week.

William Knannlein

William “Bill” Larue Knannlein, the former longtime fire chief of Grays Harbor Fire District No. 10, died in his Wishkah Valley home Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at the age of 97.

Bill was born to William A. Knannlein and Minnie May (McCoy) Knannlein in Lawrence, Indiana, on July 31, 1916, the second of 4 children.

A Navy veteran, he worked in the lumber industry, retiring from Grays Harbor Hardwood after 30 years. He moved to the Wishkah Valley in 1951. There are no plans for a formal service at this time
