Lester A. Selin
Lester A. Selin, 92, a lifetime Aberdeen resident, died Thursday, July 17, 2014.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked on President Roosevelt’s WPA program on the Bonneville Power project and also worked for the Grays Harbor Chair Factory, Harbor Plywood, West Coast Plywood, Aberdeen Plywood and spent more than 30 years with the city of Aberdeen, and also worked for Rich Hartman’s Five Star Ford, finally retiring in 2004.
A graveside service of inurnment with full military honors will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the Elma Masonic Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014. A memorial tribute will be conducted at the Cosmopolis Lions Club beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Carol Ann Caldwell-Olsen
Carol Ann Caldwell-Olsen died July 8, 2014. She was 60 years old. A potluck celebration of life is slated for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, for Carol and her recently deceased husband, John H. Olsen, at the Rotary Log Pavilion in Aberdeen.
The Olsens lived in Elma for a time and have family in McCleary. She worked as a dispatcher for the Hoquiam Fire Department, the Hoquiam Police Department and Elma Police Department prior to her first retirement to Mexico. Her final retirement came after serving as safety and risk specialist for the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino in Ocean Shores.

Georgia Lynn Simpkins
Georgia Lynn Simpkins, 62, a longtime Harborite and 1969 graduate of Weatherwax High School, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Olympia.
Simpkins was born in Tacoma, but grew up in Central Park and later graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1969. She was a homemaker and artist.
A potluck celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, August 3 at Schafer State Park, site S-1, 1365 W. Schafer Park Road in Elma.
