Archie M. Tincani

Longtime McCleary resident Archie M. Tincani died at Capital Medical Center in Olympia on June 11, 2014. He was 92.

He was born in McCleary and was a graduate of Elma High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-1945. He was employed by Simpson Timber in McCleary, from which he retired; and he was a volunteer firefighter.

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, at the McCleary Cemetery with a luncheon after at the McCleary Community Center.

Ruby B. Virtue

Ruby B. Virtue, 99, died May 1, 2014, in Edmonds. She was born in Porter and later lived in Raymond and Kent.

A celebration of her life will be conducted during the annual Bramer-Ray family reunion on Aug. 24, 2014, at Fort Borst Park in Centralia.

Michael Northrup Murphy

Michael Northrup Murphy, 72, died at his Olympia home on June 11, 2014.

Born in Elma, he graduated from Elma High School. Murphy began his public career as an aide to Congressman Don Bonker and was elected as a Grays Harbor County Commissioner, where he worked to establish Vance Creek Park, the Grays Harbor County Fairground Pavilion and the Grays Harbor Juvenile Detention Center.

A private family service was conducted on Monday, June 16, 2014. A celebration of his life is planned for later this summer.
